Who we are, and why this book exists

Dear friend,

Thank you for being here. If you found this page, you probably want to know who is behind this book before you trust it. That's exactly the right instinct, so let me tell you.

My name is Milan Djuric. I live in Belgrade, Serbia, and I run Unbroken Vine with my co-founder Archangel Luniw, who lives in Melbourne, Florida.

I'll be honest with you about why we do this. For us this was never about selling books online. So many people grow up in church, love God, and still feel that something is missing. They ask how one Church became thousands of denominations, and what the first Christians actually believed and how they worshipped. The answers exist, but they're buried in long, academic books most people will never open. We wanted to put good, faithful sources in front of people who are searching for the truth and don't know where to look. That's the mission, and I believe it's the work God put in front of me.

So we made The Orthodox Faith Made Clear, built only from established Orthodox sources: Scripture, the Nicene Creed, the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, and writers such as Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, John McGuckin, St. Nikolai Velimirović and St. Nicholas Cabasilas. Nothing in it is invented, and every source is listed at the back of the book.

It isn't an official publication of the Church, and it isn't tied to a diocese, a monastery or a big publisher. I completely understand why that makes some people cautious. What I can tell you is that parish priests are reading it and using it, and that we supply it directly to parishes. I'm talking with several people, clergy among them, to keep making it better, and I'll keep revising for as long as it takes.
